Updated COVID-19 guidance as of May 2024 for LEEP Students and Families
Based on recent NYS COVID-19 updates, the following guidelines will be implemented:
As of May 2024, instead of a minimum isolation period, students who test positive for COVID-19 should stay home and away from others based
on their symptoms, similar to how they would be advised for other respiratory infections, such as the flu, and RSV.
-
If your student has COVID-19 symptoms, they should
still get tested and separate from others right away.
-
Your student should stay home for at least 24 hours and return when they have had no fever without taking fever-reducing medicine and other
COVID-19 symptoms are getting better.
-
If your student tests positive for COVID-19 but has no symptoms, they do not need to stay home but they must wear a mask at school until
they test negative.
-
Your student should follow these precautions when homesick and for the next five days after they return to school and other activities, as
they still may be contagious:
